Equatorial Rites of Passage

From our High Seas Correspondent

Royalty came a knocking today aboard the Royal Research Ship James Cook.

The ship crossed the Equator yesterday afternoon, but due to heavy traffic around the world King Neptune was unable to attend until today.

As is customary on these occasions he visited the ship, with his wife and the entire court, to see that the Pollywogs (newcomers to his realm) are properly welcomed and able to take up their places as Shellbacks.

Your correspondent  was honoured by a personal visit from their Majesties on the bridge of RRS James Cook.

More photos soon from this auspicious occasion.

Narrow Broadband

Due to bandwidth limitations we cannot post photos to Facebook. So I'm going to be very selective and post the odd reduced size photo to my Blog, then link it to Facebook
